Job Overview: As a Circus Coach at Arkansas Circus Arts, you’ll be the guide, mentor, and source of inspiration for our students as they embark on their circus journey. Your expertise, passion, and commitment to safety will help our students develop their skills, reach their potential, and experience the thrill of circus performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Circus Instruction: Provide hands-on training and instruction in various circus disciplines, including but not limited to acrobatics, aerial arts, juggling, and balance.
  • Skill Development: Create and implement progressive training programs to help students build strength, flexibility, coordination, and technique.
  • Safety First: Prioritize and enforce safety measures and protocols during training sessions, ensuring the well-being of students.
  • Individualized Coaching: Adapt teaching methods to accommodate the skill levels and learning styles of each student, offering personalized guidance and feedback.
  • Choreography and Routine Development: Collaborate with students on the creation of performances and routines, emphasizing creativity and storytelling.
  • Performance Preparation: Train and prepare students for studio showcases, competitions, and public performances.
  • Progress Assessment: Regularly assess student progress, track milestones, and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain circus equipment and apparatus to ensure safety and functionality.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with fellow coaches and studio staff to coordinate schedules and provide a cohesive learning experience.
  • Continued Learning: Stay updated on industry trends, techniques, and safety standards to enhance your coaching expertise.

Qualifications:

  • Circus Expertise: Extensive experience and proficiency in various circus disciplines, with a strong foundation in one or more areas.
  • Teaching Experience: Previous coaching or teaching experience in circus arts or related fields is highly desirable.
  • Safety Conscious: In-depth knowledge of safety procedures and a commitment to maintaining a safe training environment.
  • Effective Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect with students and provide clear instructions.
  • Creativity: Ability to create and choreograph captivating circus routines and acts.
  • Passion: A genuine passion for circus arts and a desire to inspire and nurture talent.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in circus arts or coaching are a plus.
